Although Elon Musk himself was once involved in the founding of OpenAI, he has expressed his skepticism about ChatGPT several times in recent weeks. As CEO of Tesla and Twitter, he is now reportedly planning his own AI lab to develop a chatbot competitor that will take less "woke" approaches.

Elon Musk has expressed his concerns about ChatGPT in the past, calling it "promising and powerful" but also a "big danger." He has warned OpenAI chief Sam Altman via Twitter that the risk of training AI to "woke" and thus lie could be "deadly." In light of these concerns, Musk is now reportedly planning to create his own AI lab to develop a chatbot competitor.

According to a report from The Information, Elon Musk is planning a counter-program to ChatGPT's "woke" AI. In recent weeks, he is said to have contacted several AI researchers to work together on developing a ChatGPT alternative.

One of the AI researchers contacted is said to be Igor Babushkin, a former employee of Deepmind, an AI incubator of Google parent Alphabet, who has extensive experience in large language models. This makes him a suitable expert for Musk's idea, as also reported by Stern.de.

Igor Babushkin has confirmed that he has spoken with Elon Musk about the AI project, but he also clarified that he has not officially joined the project yet. According to The Information, which cites three insiders, the AI project is still in the construction phase. There are no concrete plans to develop specific products yet.

It seems that Elon Musk is serious about developing an alternative to ChatGPT, as he considers it too "woke". It is therefore possible that a chatbot with fewer limitations and a different approach could be launched in the near future.
