Themed “The City of the Sky, Maybe Shenzhen”, the event broke all records, with more than 10,000 drones taking to the skies to create stunning 3D aerial images.

The flying robots created stunning visual effects, including a floating rainbow bird, lightning falling from the sky and a 3D drone with built-in screens. According to wionews, all drones were stored in special “launch boxes” before the show, each containing twelve mini-helicopters. The entire fleet was controlled and monitored in real time from a single laptop.

The show broke the previous record, which had been set just a few weeks earlier. In early September 2024, 7,500 drones put on a show to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the autonomous prefecture of Yanbian in Korea, breaking the previous record of 3,000 drones. Now, just one month later, this record has been broken again in Shenzhen.
